Formed in 2007, Mabaan Soul's first projects together were their infamous after parties in Viareggio, Tuscany. Fabio, a sound engineering student in Milan brings the technical know how to the production process, whilst Lorenzo the DJ, brings his equally essential creative input. Inspired by the legendary sounds of DJ Sneak and the fresh new approach of the likes new wave of young producers, Mabaan Soul have crafted their own blend of 'nu' and 'deep' house, with lashings of latin soul and splashes of oldskool influence. The duo's first release, 2009's 'New Orleans EP' on London's Metroline Ltd, found favour with a host of big names. The duo have gone on to feature on a further five releases for Metroline as well Rawthentic and BCBtec. Mabaan Soul's first outing on SAW, found them remixing Satoshi Tomiie's "Back To Basics", released under his MES alias. This was soon followed by their very own release on the label, "On The BeaT" EP. Now they return with their latest production, "Yo." A chugging roller of a track with a weighty rib-cracking kick drum that stamps its authority throughout. Drafted in remix duty is Cadenza's UK artist, Gavin Herlihy. Reigning in the original, Gavin plunges it deep, as his bathes us warm bass, golden key chords and the odd guitar lick throughout. A soft Xylophone melody also enters the fray, as all of its elements gel together to form something rather lovely indeed.
