Mango Alley is very pleased to present a special remixes release of an old classic by Norwegian duo Espen and Elusive, entitled "Albatross Confessions." First up on remix detail is Mango's alter ego, Tokyo Bay Cruise, the past tracks of whom have been supported heavily by Jaytech and James Grant and who also was recently featured on the Silk Royal Showcase 01 compilation. A techy groove of his remix sets the tone early, while various vocal snippets from the original are heard above. As the track nears the quarter turn, beautiful chords and atmospheric pads begin to creep into the mix. The main break is especially poignant: a gorgeous melody and piano instrumental join the soundscape, as the chords grow in intensity and resonance. Fell progressive house veteran Arthur Deep, who has been a dear friend and collaborator of Mango for years, offers a quintessentially smooth, melodic, and emotional interpretation. The chilled, "classic" house beat provides a steady rhythm, as numerous melancholic melodic layers are built upon each other, including an incisive piano chord progression and signature "dancing" arp lines. Finally, the very versatile Ryan Davis, who has released a variety of acclaimed tracks this year in numerous EDM sub-genres, offers a gorgeous down-tempo rendering; the glitchy soundscape of this one is reminiscent of the production style of famed British artist Imogen Heap. Gorgeous melodic effects punctuate the outer-worldly textures, as do the whispered vocals from the Original. The innovative result showcases another masterpiece by this extremely talented German artist.
