Formed in 2007, Mabaan Soul's first project together was their infamous after parties in Viareggio, Tuscany. Fabio, a sound engineering student in Milan provides the technical skills on the production front, whilst Lorenzo the DJ, brings his creative input. Inspired by the legendary sounds of DJ Sneak and the fresh new approach of the likes of Nick Curly, Mabaan Soul have crafted their own blend of 'nu' and 'deep' house, with lashings of latin soul and splashes of oldskool influence. The duo's first release was 2009's 'New Orleans EP' on London's Metroline Ltd, which found favour with a host of big names. As did their remix of Tomiie's 'Back To Basics'. 'The Beat' EP is a four track collection of solid dancefloor tools. Each displaying the guys trademark weighty beats, we are treated to a host of Latin, African and European percussive vibes. Low slung bass, sparkling keys, funky sax and drops of tech all feature in what is a choice selection for all DJ's.
