Born in Guayaquil, Ecuador, Levitium began his music career as a soundman when he was fifteen years old. At the turn of the millennium, he discovered electronic music and thus began his dreams of becoming a DJ. In 2002, Levitium attained residency in Miami´s infamous Hotel Chelsea located in South Beach. Within months, he returned to his home country and opened an electronic themed bar called “Tenth Planet” in Montañita, one of the most underground hippie / surfer getaways in the Latin American Pacific coast. In 2004, Levitium toured Peru visiting Piura, Lima, and Cusco. He began his production career in 2006 when he obtained a certification in audio systems and recording at the IASS (Sonica) run by Daniel Sain, one of the members of Argentinian megaband Soda Stereo. In 2007 Levitium signed his first EP “Feelings and Emotions” with Italian label Foot Lovers Music, owned by Joy Kitikonti. This release was the first Ecuadorian artist to be distributed digitally on Beatport. That same year, he returned to South Beach to play at the grand opening of Club Hydra and Bar/Restaurant Chinagrill. In 2009, Levitium launch project Levitium Records, a DJ/production school, event promoter, and record label. Within a year, the school graduated 25 DJs, organized some of the best parties featuring top acts such as DJ T. , D:Fuse, Tom Budden, among many others, and 23 EPs were released digitally.
