In just 22 years Irishman Pete Maguire has achieved what many never do in a lifetime of producing. 2010 was his breakthrough year. With less than 12 months experience Pet e had a number of his original t racks signed to various labels. The plaudits inevitably followed with recognition as runner up in the Best Newcomer at the Irish Dance Music Awards and perhaps most noticeably the attention of Pefecto Records head honcho Paul Oakenfold who enlisted Pete forremixduties.Following his sharp rise on the Irish Dance scene Pete was approached by Spin 1038 to host his own radio show. Resistance has been a massively successful outlet for Pete and recently celebrated its first anniversary with record listenership figures. In recent years Pete has developed and polished his sound to a point where his productions are regularly receive from the likes of Carl Cox. Robert Dietz and Mark Knight. His Poniente EP released in 2011 is a particular standout. Not one to pigeonhole himself Pete produces across a wide spectrum of genres. From punchy tech house to melodic progressive and even the odd techno track the one constant the energy and punch Pete brings to his tunes.Unlike many of todays producers Pete has talent both inside and out of the studio. His intricate DJ setup enables Pete to transfer his talents from the studio to the mainroom dance-floor. His abilities meant he was a natural choice as resident for Ireland's foremost dance brand Residence. This has led to a nationwide exposure and a series of high profile sets alongside the likes of Sander Van Doorn and Nicky Romero and Mat Zo. Outside of Residence he also took to the stage this year warming up for heavyweights Deadmau5 & Steve Aoki.With Pete now back in the studio full time a number of exciting remixes and originals are now ready to be unleashed on the public. With his proven track record this promises to be an exciting year for the youngster.
