 - Matt Heize

Bio:

Hailing from Liège, Belgium, Matt Heize bought his first pair of turntables in 1994 and began spinning Chicago house and Detroit techno at local parties and clubs. His ability to move a dancefloor was first honed at Sint-Truiden’s legendary Montini Rave Zone where he first held a residency at the age of 19. A year later he began producing music with Jean-Louis Kollash: their first release came out in 1997 on Antwerp’s Minimalistix label. Matt continued with a number of strong releases under the name djxentrix&jlk on Reload , News, Pornographic recordings(cristian varela’s label) and Bipolar (Detroit).Matt’s ear for a floorfilling tune (and his day job serving up vinyl at Audiopolis Records) helped him build the extensive and diverse vinyl collection that he uses to create soulful, uplifting, atmospheric sets. Few DJs can build a buzz or move a crowd on the dancefloor the way Matt can. With Matt Heize / Xentrix in control, no-one can stay still. In 2001 Matt joined Fabulous & Festivibe and the Katsu Club where he has shared the decks with major international artists including Adam Beyer, Claude Young, Ben Long, Steve Stoll, Percy-X, Aril Bricka, Mark broom, Suburban Knight, Jamie Anderson and Funk D’Void among others.Dj xentrix has released tunes under various names and on various labels including his own Kroma Recordings, which is focussed on a driving, funky, techno style. His distinctive tracks have been championed by the likes of Dave Clark, M. Bailey, Tonio , Ben Long, Daz Saund and Darren Price.Lately Matt heize has released tunes(since2008) on Sculpture , Push It records, and Recode. With these tunes Matt explores ways to combine his emotional depth, strong rhythmic and melodic senses into solid, floor-shaking tracks. The results, a deliciously irresistIble blend of deep techno and high-tech house, win him new fans on the dance floor with every outing.Matt Heize has also been busy a lot in 2012with Ion Music ( his own new label), a collaboration with Mozaï c focusing on deep, minimalist techno. Causing a stir from the very first release, tracks like “Higher State” and the “Spy” remix from Mozaîc earned acclaim from Philip Bader, Justin Harris, Marco Fender, Luciano ,Tom Dazing, Paco osuna ,Marco carola. An incredibly well-rounded and prolific DJ and producer, Matt Heize / DJ Xentrix has been putting feet on the dancefloor and hands in the air since 1994.
