 - Jane G

Bio:

Born in Riga, the capital city of Latvia in 1988, JaneG (Jevgenija Mihailova) is from a musically gifted family. Growing up with her mother being a very accomplished pianist and her father having an incredibly unique singing voice, it only required for her to take a little notice of what surrounded her at home before she got engrossed in music herself.Aged 6, her learning about music really began. Jevgenija was a child who did not just listen to what she heard, she lived within it, felt it and knew it would play a big part in her life, even at this age. At 12, she embarked on training in drama and dance and by 15, under the supportive influence of her father, she studied Russian poetry of the Silver Age and read poetry at the Latvian Society of Culture.A child who always took notice, a child who thought about what was around her rather than be oblivious to it all, Jevgenija always had a strong sense of awareness. Anything she took interest in was not halfhearted, she would explore beyond browsing, she would study in detail and go for what she knew she liked and could do – this continued and expanded through to her adulthood.Definitely not weak in terms of personality, Jevgenija grew up being selective and focused, never allowing people to impose on her own opinion, alter her beliefs or discourage her from her goals – she knew exactly what she wanted and always had motivation. At the age of 19, having finished secondary school, she planned to enhance her education by studying Spanish philology at university, however, she received an offer to move to Russia to work as a singer with one of the best Bossa nova jazz bands. She embraced a great opportunity here by deciding to take a chance. A great step forward in her growth as a singer and musician is what this decision yielded, moreover, it made her decide on what her career choice would be absolutely. Since then, her determination has never wavered,An extremely successful track on which JaneG features is “Melt With Me” by Magnetic Brothers, released on Armada Music. Lucas Antillas Moretti, an Italian Producer/DJ, was inspired by the song and created an incredibly deep remix of it with Dankann. What they created touched and impressed a worldwide trance audience. “Melt With Me (Antillas & Dankann Rework)” is well prescribed amongst hundreds of trance tracks at Beatport. The single was released on vinyl in the UK, Germany and Poland. Beside “Melt With Me” in the album are Lemon & Einar K. Dash featuring Sarah Howells and Sebastian Brandt.Whilst Jevgenija’s experience has accumulated, her own style and manner of performance acquired its own character and individuality. For each musical composition, JaneG is incredibly serious; she carefully and tenderly works out the idea she has conceived, fills the song with an intriguing combination of spice and drive of emotion. Lyrics are sharp, expressive, very rhythmic and marked with succinct thoughts and energetic feeling. Jevgenija speaks 5 languages fluently, this is reflected in her song and lyric writing to which she has applied this knowledge.JaneG, the artist, states, “Indeed, there is a professional approach to writing vocals and lyrics for a certain song, but ultimately and ideally you must explain what has already been said in the music, it is the only way to complete it.”
