Bio:

Nova, has recently partnered with a bright young producer from Los Angeles, CA, together they have formed Ds and Cs. The music they have created is derived from their heritage, Dominicans and Cubans, with strong influences on the latin beats and rhythms. Both shared similar ties to Detroit Techno as it bridged the gap between their coasts. Nelson and Luis share over a decade of DJ experience crossing dance venues from coast to coast.As a solo production artists, Nelson continue to push his growingsound, Ds and Cs music production however, is a mix of old school and nu school creating a unique but modern day sound. With obvious ties to Detroit, the sound digs into those influences and creates a new feel.Nelson has been involved in Miami's underground scene since the early 90s..He began spinning in 1996 at local clubs such as Nikki Beach, Mission, Bash, BarRoom, Liquid, The Marlin Bar andMeza(Coral Gables). More recently he has appeared at Nocturnal Terrace, and the Techno Loft @ Space, Miami. For several years Nova Hosted his own weekly internet radio shows at The Womb (107.1FM, www.thewomb.com) a “REAL AUDIO” preset. Throughout the years the show had appearances by guests such as Juan Atkins, John Acquaviva, Terrence Parker, to name a few. His show premiered several artists such as Transmat’s Time: Space Compilation as well as several releases from Hybrid Records andthe Cari Lekebusch crew. Nova has appeared on several internet radio shows, Andrew Duke’s “Cognition Audioworks”, Radio Maestrals (Croatia) “Musika Na Struju”, and DJ Reversive’s “Bangin’ Grooves” show on Techno FM. Since 1997 Nova has also been a regular on WVUM 90.5 FM(Univ. of Miami) on Friday nights Underground show. As for live appearances, in the U.S. Nova has been features in clubs along the East Coast including NYC, to the Midwest to Columbus, OH in clubs such as Mecca, and The Redzone,to Detroit, MI at The Works, Forans, and Panacea. He has also been invited to perform internationally, spinning all over Central and South America including Tango India and Club Oxygen in San Jose, Costa Rica, Club Morocco, Club Gotika, and Barfly in Bogota, Carnival in Medellin Colombia and Club Casbahin Antigua, Guatemala. Recently, DJ Nova performed at the World Recognized, Movement Festival 2004 (formerly known as DEMF) on the historical Music Institute Stage, and Ultra Music Festival 2006, on the Beatport Techno Stage, alongside Pjay, Agent Orange, Richie Hawtin and more.Keep your eyes on this young DJ/Producer as he propels Miami to the cutting edge of electronic music!!
