Aschka

Canadian electronic producer Aschka was already at the piano before her feet could reach the floor. Growing up with her ear glued to the radio, her predilection for underground music was indulged by a move to Europe in the 90s where she got into jazz, soundtracks, breakbeat and downbeat electronics. Eventually she became involved in local DJ and club culture and was heavily influenced by techno and house. She made her first appearances in her adoptive country Belgium, where she played live at various locations and later held a residency at the Brussels hotspot Zebra. Aschka's productions have appeared on Ibadan Records, De'fchild and Firm, combining harmony and melodies with experimental sounds.
